Cycling route No. 3.3. „Route around Lake Adamova”

The velo route goes through a nature park “Adamovas ezers” („Lake Adamova”). The most beautiful scenery of the park is formed by Lake Adamova and its five islands covered by forests. In the northern part of the lake that is hilly and picturesque there is the beginning of the route at the guest house „Azarkrosti”. Small rural paths lead to “Ceplīši”, the house of pottery masters Olga and Voldemārs Voguli. Visitors can make something from the clay themselves or purchase the ceramics. The route continues along the rural area, up and down the hills, along the cemetery, lake and ends at road Lendži.

Holiday house “Azarkrosti” and Holiday house „Vīteri”. The landscape of Nature Park „Lake Adamova” consists of Lake Adamova with 5 islands and hills in the northern part of the lake. It is possible to relax and enjoy the landscape and stillness while staying in „Azarkrosti” and „Vīteri”.

Voguls’ pottery workshop. Permanent exposition of articles of black and colourful pottery.

Sarkaņi. Sarkaņi (Virgin Maria Immaculate Conception) Roman Catholic Church was built in 1860. It is a stone building and is famous for Virgin Maria Miracle-worker icon with a healing power. It is believed that Sarkaņi is one of the oldest holy places in Latgale.

Bērzgale. Bērzgale Local History Museum presents a permanent exposition devoted to the famous Latgalian writer Ontons Rupainis. The museum guides offer excursions along the most beautiful places of Bērzgale. St. Anna Roman Catholic Church in Bērzgale was built in 1787. The altar is decorated with wood carving ornaments of baroque style. Bērzgale (Veitko) manor was built using boulders and red bricks from the former Manteifels castle built in the middle of the 19th century.

Verēmu parish. In the pottery workshop of Viktors Pankovs it is possible to work at the pottery wheel, to listen to the host’s interesting story about the history of the place.

Purmaļi boulder is the biggest stone in Rezekne District and one of the biggest boulders in Latvia. It is located on the hillside between trees and bushes and has been damaged during the centuries.

In the workshop of the wood turner A.Kuzmans it is possible to observe the work process and buy his articles.

In the workshop of the weaver J. Zeļenova it is possible to to participate in the weaving process and to buy her articles. It is possible to relax in the yard of the rural house at Lake Šķeņeva.
